What Happened
A construction worker was killed Tuesday morning when a fully loaded truck backed into him at a work site near Front Avenue Northwest and Pearl Street Northwest in downtown Grand Rapids, near the Grand Rapids Public Museum, according to WWMT, WOOD Radio and WZZM13, citing the Grand Rapids Police Department.
Police said the crash happened at about 8:25 a.m. when the truck, which was fully loaded, backed up and struck the worker at the site. He was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
The Grand Rapids Police Department's Traffic Unit is investigating. Police said all indications so far point to an accidental death.
