A 30-year-old Flint man died after a two-vehicle crash on Saginaw Road in Grand Blanc Township late Sunday night, according to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department as reported by WNEM-TV, ABC12 and Mid-Michigan NOW. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
Police said the crash occurred at approximately 10:22 p.m. in the 9000 block of Saginaw Road, near Warwick Hills. The Flint man was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 and was making a left turn out of a subdivision to head south on Saginaw Road when his car was struck on the driver’s-side door by a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 23-year-old Davison woman, according to the reports. The Grand Blanc Township Fire Department extricated the Flint man from the G6, and he was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police did not release the condition of the Cruze driver.
Police said alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash but did not say which driver they were referring to, and no charges had been announced as of this report. The Crash Investigation Reconstruction Team is investigating alongside Grand Blanc Township police. The man’s name had not been released.
