A 19-year-old Tawas City man has died of injuries from a motorcycle crash on Tawas Beach Road in East Tawas, the Michigan State Police said. Our condolences go out to his family, friends, and the Tawas-area community mourning a young life lost.

The crash happened just after midnight on Friday, Aug. 7, on Tawas Beach Road near Waters Edge Road, according to Mid-Michigan NOW. Troopers said the motorcycle went off the roadway. The rider suffered life-threatening injuries and died two days later, on Sunday, Aug. 9.

State police have not released additional details about what caused the motorcycle to leave the road, and the rider’s name had not been made public as of this report. WNEM also reported the young man’s death this week.
