A Michigan State Police trooper and another driver were both taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after a collision at the intersection of South Isabella Road and East Remus Road in Union Township, just outside Mount Pleasant in Isabella County. According to state police, the crash happened at approximately 1:19 p.m. on Monday, August 17.
State police said the trooper was responding to a separate personal-injury crash in the area when the patrol vehicle was involved in the intersection collision, WNEM reported. Mid-Michigan NOW, citing MSP, reported that the patrol car was struck by another vehicle as the trooper was on the way to that earlier crash scene.
Both the trooper and the driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries that authorities described as non-life-threatening, and both were treated at a local hospital. Police did not immediately release the age, hometown or condition of the other driver, and the trooper’s name was not released.
