A 67-year-old woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after a Chevrolet Traverse and a Michigan State Police patrol vehicle collided on M-53 near Burnside Road in Lapeer County Monday afternoon, state police said.
According to the Michigan State Police Third District, the crash happened around 4:20 p.m. The woman was riding in the SUV's third row. The SUV was driven by a 68-year-old man from Avoca and carried three other passengers in addition to the woman. The trooper was not injured, state police said.
